This entire study rests on the postulate that the unanimous feelings of believers down the ages cannot be mere illusion. Therefore, like recent apologists of faith, I accept that religious belief rests on a definite experience, whose demonstrative value is, in a sense, not inferior to that of scientific experiments, though different.
